According to a report in the Daily Star, aggressive rodents have been terrorising the streets of Chester - the city where the Channel 4 soap is set.

The cast of Hollyoaks will probably give Chester a wide birth after hearing the news

"I’ve seen the rats. They just walk around the streets in the daylight and they’re huge. The problem seems to be getting worse."

Apparently, the rats have been able to get make their way onto the streets of Chester through the city's canals and waterways.

While the local council is working hard to fix the problem, it is believed that some of the poison used to kill the rodents isn't working and in some cases, is turning them into "super-sized beasts".

Simon Forrester, of the British Pest Control Association, then added: “It’s only natural numbers are expanding. There could be a significant risk to health."
